![]() ![]() Anyway, welcome to the Raiment of a Thousand StormsGenerator Monk, a build that uses Dashing Strike to give our Spirit Generators a massive DPS boost. But it eventually fell out of relevance as other builds got buffed. Since then, Gen Monk has been used as a Rift Guardian Killer for a few Seasons, while being the top dog for solo Monk leaderboards. ![]() Say no more, with that crazy damage scaling, Static Monk dominated all the Season 4 leaderboards before getting hit hard by the nerf hammer in Season 5 to never be seen again. In groups, it turns out that any player in the party could proc Static Charge s applied by the Gen Monk, as any damaging hit with a proc coefficient on a monster affected was able to proc a Lightning tick to all other monsters affected by Static Charge, this chance being affected by the proc coefficient (which is why Fists of Fury was used in solo). Meanwhile first iterations of Gen Monk were playing Mangle, some players eventually found out during the Season that Static Charge in combination with Fists of Fury was way stronger. Exploding palm is amazing. All the way back to Season 4, Shenlong's Spirit got reworked to massively buff the damage output of Generators, which allowed "Gen Monks" to become a strong META build. ![]() ![]() But if you aren't trying to push leaderboards, then Uliana is a load of fun and very satisfying. The difference in complexity between high pushing Uliana and raiment is minimal, because snapshotting sucks, and it take a lot of time to ge tthe rhythm down right and to make sure you keep the right mobs around. A well-built Uliana monk can have a toughness around 2-3 billion, while Raiment will struggle to break 100 mil. Uliana is, however, much tankier than Raiment. Same with Uliana pushing builds past about GR 100/105. Raiment is fun to a degree, but it's really hard to get it right. SWK is really easy to play, fast moving, and fun. There are some other builds, like the support/zdps inna builds (and variations), and Legacy of Nightmares with LTK, but these are either garbage or support/group only.Īt one time Inna/Uliana hybrid was used for exploding palm, but innas really works best as a support build rather than a dps build. In terms of 'meta' builds, the builds are ranked this way in terms of ease of play: U/zil_zil, the biggest problem with raiment is still that it's very squishy and so unless you are really good at it or very high paragon, it is very hard. Bah, it can do GR 110+, but it's not easy. ![]()
